Decorative Surfacing

Resin bound and resin bonded decorative surfaces

Decorative surfacing is used in a wide range of situations including parks, heritage sites, driveways and footpaths. These surfaces are popular because they blend an attractive natural appearance with durability, crack resistance and weed suppression.

The specific surface you choose will depend on a number of factors including cost, location and the degree of water permeability required. We'll be happy to advise you on your most suitable option. Both types use a combination of aggregate and a resin such as Adbruf GeoPave.

With a resin bonded system the resin layer is applied to the substrate and a gravel layer is spread over the surface before it cures. This offers a significantly better performance than a loose gravel path or driveway.

In a resin bound system the aggregate is incorporated into the resin layer. Resin bound surfaces are porous and must be used where Sustainable Drainage (SuDS) regulations apply. Their porosity makes them highly suitable for surfacing tree pits in urban landscaping.

You can choose from a wide range of natural and recycled aggregates or recycled glass to provide exactly the finish you want.
